The Department of Family and Community Services, Office of Children’s Services (OCS) is recruiting for full‑time Social Services Associate (SSA) located in Petersburg, Alaska.
This position is open to All Applicants.
What You Will Be DoingA Social Services Associate is an administrative position supporting professional staff by gathering information for assessments, case planning and evaluation, and providing parenting support during family contacts, accessing electronic databases, and facilitating referrals to other agencies. The role involves working with families and children to enhance capacities, provide safe homes, maintain cultural connections, and help families realize their potential. The incumbent must be courteous, professional, calm, motivated, efficient, and possess strong critical thinking skills.
Travel may be required 0–2 times a month or year, with trips ranging from day to overnight.

Working Environment You Can ExpectThe office is in Petersburg, a Nordic fishing village known for outdoor activities. Work may include evenings, weekends, and travel to outlying villages or cities (0–2 times a month), sometimes involving small aircraft and overnight stays.
