Heavy Equipment Operator

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for assisting in the planning and coordination of daily workloads, executing assigned projects, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the heavy equipment fleet. This role involves maintaining and repairing roads, airport runways, and drill site pads. Responsibilities also include winter maintenance activities such as snow removal on roads, runways, and pads, as well as material handling and organization within the Kuparuk field.

A valid U.S.

-issued, Alaska-compliant Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with both Tanker and Hazmat endorsements is required as well as a DOT Medical Card.

Essential duties include:

• Performing pad, road, and runway maintenance and repair.
• Becoming OSHA certified in trenching and excavation and performing these activities safely.
• Operating heavy equipment in Kuparuk's fleet safely and proficiently.
• Being familiar with and capable of using rotary lasers and site levels to establish grade and set grade hubs and stakes.
• Preparing, updating, and maintaining logs, records, and timecards.
• Monitoring equipment operation, performing pre-operation inspections, identifying malfunctions, filling out maintenance requests, and cleaning equipment.
• Inspecting, adjusting, and performing minor equipment repairs.
• Helping prepare and maintain inventory of supplies, PPE, equipment, and tools.
• Supporting AES zero-incident safety culture and assuming personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

Required experience includes:

• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A valid (U.S issued, Alaska compliant) Class A CDL with both Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
• A current DOT Medical Card.
• A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification.
• The ability to work 84 hours a week on a 2x2 or 3x3 rotation.
• At least three (3) years of experience operating heavy equipment.

Preferred experience includes:

• Four (4) or more years of experience working as a Heavy Equipment Operator in a Construction or Industrial setting, the Petrochemical or Oil and Gas industry, on the North Slope, and/or in other Arctic environments.
• A current OSHA Trenching and Excavation Certification.
