Materials Handler

Responsibilities

• Receive, count, weigh, and check items to ensure vendor delivery matches the purchase order.
• Accept only items listed on the approved purchase order receiving copy, record quantity and condition, and forward the completed document.
• Place items in stockroom locations, stack by commodity and size, fill requisitions, retain copies, and forward signed requisitions.
• Review stock levels with supervisor, recommend disposition of slow‑moving or dead stock.
• Assist in end‑of‑month inventories, count items, and provide figures to supervisor.
• Ensure supplies and equipment are safeguarded, lock storerooms, and maintain sanitation standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Complete a background investigation with favorable results.
• Complete a pre‑employment drug test with favorable results.
• Complete a favorable pre‑employment physical (lifting up to 40 pounds) or otherwise be able to complete it during the hiring process.
• Hold or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license.
• Meet the minimum age requirement for working with alcohol.

• Experience in receiving, storing, and issuing routine materials and equipment.
• Ability to organize, arrange, and remove stock.
• Skill in using dollies, jacks, and hand tools used in warehousing tasks.
• Physical ability to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

This position does not allow for education substitution. Employment in foreign education requires proof of equivalence to U.S. programs.
