Overview
Codornices Veterinary Clinic is currently looking to hire a Veterinary Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves pets and being part of a fun, supportive team.
Position Details- Salary: $19 - 26 per hour, depending on experience, education, licensure, and certifications.
- Schedule:
Full-time, 8-hour shifts, Monday – Friday. Monday and Saturday coverage is required. Closed on Sunday and all federal holidays. - Location:

- 1+ years clinical experience as a veterinary assistant
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Compassionate and calm demeanor with animals and clients
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, procedures, and surgeries
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint; ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Comfortable handling dogs and cats safely
- Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories; maintain accurate medical records and treatment logs
- Monitor patient vital signs and report changes to veterinarians
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed
- Skilled in venipuncture (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
- Able to perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning
- Collect, prepare and perform laboratory tests (blood, urine, feces); IDEXX in-house laboratory
- Prepare animals and equipment for surgery; monitor anesthesia and recovery
- Educate clients on animal care, medications, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities
- Ability to handle stressful or emotional situations professionally
- Adaptable to working well with current doctors and team members
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
