Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Albany, GA. The Accountant will handle day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations. The role includes preparing financial statements and reports, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and supporting forestland accounting activities related to timber sales, property management, and other forestry services. The Accountant will ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements, while maintaining accurate financial records.

This position will collaborate with project managers and leadership to provide financial insights and respond to internal and external inquiries regarding financial data.

Qualifications
  • Strong skills in general accounting, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger management, and bank reconciliations.
  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis, including preparation of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for data analysis.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and relevant financial regulations, with attention to accuracy, compliance, and internal controls.
  • Ability to interpret and manage financial data related to land, timber, and natural resource assets (forestry or real estate experience is a plus).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines on-site.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain financial information clearly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (such as CPA or CMA) is preferred but not required.
