Job summary:

The secretary will be responsible for the accuracy, security, maintenance, confidentiality and integrity of physical and electronic records. The secretary will support the department and ensure compliance procedures are implemented and followed.

Minimum qualifications:

* two years of college and technical diploma in business and office technology or related field;

* proficiency in microsoft office and google suite applications;

* such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate.

Skills and abilities:

* excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational skills are essential;

* excellent customer service skills in working with students, families, staff, administrators and the public;

* ability to prioritize and meet deadlines;

* ability to work with a high degree of accuracy;

* ability to work with multiple coordinators.

Performance responsibilities:

* greets individuals, general public and school system personnel; provides information about the curriculum and other related functions of the school system;

* researches and orders materials for teachers and students;

* requests quotes and prepare purchase requisitions in tyler;

* receives orders into tyler for accounting to remit payments;

* assists coordinators with textbook orders and professional learning activities for teachers, academic coaches and administrators;

* serves as bookkeeper and accountant for coordinator's accounts and budgets;

* coordinates transportation arrangements, lodging and meals for competitions, fairs and instructional and grant funded field trips;

* records inventory of items and supplies ordered and delivered to teachers and schools;

* receives, sorts and distributes departmental mail;

* prepares and processes additional compensation forms, timesheets, consultant contracts, and employee expense statements;

* operates various office machines such as copiers, faxes, printers, etc.

associate superintendent of academic services

Salary range: competitive salary and excellent benefits package, in accordance with the dcss compensation guide
