Office Manager
The Dougherty County School System is seeking an office manager to join our roster of experienced, motivated, and effective professionals. The Office Manager serves as the operational hub of the school, ensuring the efficient and professional functioning of the front office and administrative systems. This position provides high-level administrative and operational support to the principal, staff, students, families, and district departments.
The Office Manager coordinates daily office operations, manages communication and records, supports financial processes, and maintains a welcoming and organized environment that reflects the school's commitment to service and excellence. This role requires strong organizational skills, discretion with confidential information, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced school environment.
Location:
Alice Coachman Elementary School
Diploma or certificate in Business Office Technology, Business Administration, or a related field;
Associate's degree preferred;
Two (2) years of clerical or administrative experience, preferably in a school or public service setting;
Experience working with sensitive student and personnel information while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and office management systems;
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills when working with students, families, staff, and community members;
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and the Board may find appropriate.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders;
Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills in a high-demand environment;
Ability to maintain accurate records and manage confidential information in accordance with district policies and federal privacy regulations (FERPA);
Proficiency in office technology, student information systems, digital communication tools, and data entry systems;
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage competing responsibilities effectively;
Strong customer service mindset and ability to create a welcoming and supportive environment for students, families, and visitors;
Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and district personnel while also exercising independent judgment when needed;
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and adaptability in a dynamic school setting.
- Office Administration
- Manage day-to-day operations of the front office
- Greet and assist students, parents, staff, and visitors
- Maintain a welcoming, organized, and professional office environment
- Answer phones, route calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries
- Maintain office supplies and equipment; place orders as needed
- Communication and Coordination
- Serve as liaison between the principal, staff, parents, and district personnel
- Draft and distribute school communications, notices, and newsletters
- Schedule meetings, appointments, and school events
- Maintain school calendar and coordinate logistics for events and meetings
- Records and Reporting
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, enrollment, health, and emergency information
- Prepare reports and data for school and district use
- Assist with registration, withdrawals, and student transfers
- Ensure compliance with confidentiality and data privacy policies
- Financial and Budget Support
- Assist with processing purchase orders, invoices, and reimbursements
- Maintain petty cash and school activity funds under district guidelines
- Track and reconcile budget expenditures as directed by the principal
- Support to Principal and Staff
- Coordinate substitute coverage and maintain staff attendance records
- Provide administrative support to the principal and other staff members
- Performs other such duties needed or assigned by the Supervisor
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods in an office or operations setting;
Capability to lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds;
Sufficient vision and hearing to communicate effectively, read documents, and work on a computer;
Ability to move between administrative offices and transportation facilities;
