Position: Georgia Learning Resources System Administrative Assistant (GLRS)

Georgia Learning Resources System Administrative Assistant

The Dougherty County School System is seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team as a Georgia Learning Resources System Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant plays a critical role performing a variety of administrative tasks to ensure efficient operations. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals.

Minimum qualifications include a diploma in business office technology or equivalent; two years of clerical experience in a school office or related setting; experience in working with sensitive information; experience in Microsoft and Google Suites; and such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and the Board may find appropriate.

Skills and abilities

include excellent communication and organization skills; the ability to collect, sort, prepare, and scan documents, and label them for easy identification; the ability to ensure that all records are properly updated, and maintained accurately and confidentially; and the ability to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.

Performance responsibilities include demonstrating prompt and regular attendance; managing scheduling for the Teacher Resource Center and monitoring center usage; managing bank accounts, including submitting required paperwork, reconciling accounts, etc.; managing the contract process, including approval of vendors, writing, sending out, and monitoring receipt of consultant/vendor contracts, and submitting paperwork to the appropriate departments for approval; managing event registration forms, corresponding with registrants, and sending out event reminders;

assisting with planning and preparing for GLRS events; assisting with breakdown and cleanup of conference rooms following events; updating electronic participant data following each GLRS event; collecting and maintaining office records in an organized manner that facilitates easy access for other GLRS staff; managing inventory of materials, supplies, snacks, etc. and initiating the process of replacing/replenishing as needed; submitting work orders on behalf of GLRS;

managing information coming into GLRS, including phone calls, interoffice mail, guests, etc.; and performing other such duties assigned by the supervisor.

This position reports to the Director of GLRS. The salary range is competitive and includes an excellent benefits package, in accordance with the DCSS Compensation Guide.
