Principal Court Clerk

The Dougherty County Clerk of Courts is hiring for a Principal Court Clerk. This position provides administrative support to the Magistrate Court Judges and operates under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.

• Performs routine office tasks such as answering telephones, data entry, filling out forms, and filing within the assigned area of responsibility.
• Interacts with customers by telephone, answering inquiries, and directing complaints and problems to appropriate personnel.
• Enters data into the computer database and prepares monthly reports.
• Compiles, designs, and types newsletters, fliers, and other various documents.
• Officially records County documents.
• Receives civil filings and associated fees for processing.
• Performs related work as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two (2) years of clerical experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Valid degree(s) and/or certificate(s) documentation may be required.

Performing sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
