The Dougherty County Clerk of Courts is hiring for a Principal Court Clerk. The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the State and Superior Court Judges.
This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
Essential tasks include performing routine office tasks such as answering telephones, data entry, filling out forms, and filing for assigned area of responsibility. Interaction with customers by telephone, answering inquiries and directing complaints and problems to appropriate personnel. Entering data into computer database; preparing monthly reports. Compiling, designing, and typing newsletters, fliers and other various documents. Officially recording County documents. Receiving civil filings and associated fees for processing.
Performing related work as assigned.
Minimum qualification includes a high school diploma or GED equivalent and two (2) years of clerical experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Supplemental information includes physical demands that involve walking or standing some of the time and exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations. Unavoidable hazards and special certifications and licenses are not required. Copies of required documents including high school diploma or equivalent, driver's license, degree(s) and/or certificate(s) are required.
