About this role
Carrier is seeking a shipping coordinator who will handle inventory management, process orders, and plan warehouse efforts in coordination with business needs. You will form the relationships between supplier, transportation provider and customer. The shipping coordinator is critical to helping design and analyze the methods employed in ensuring our warehouse operations is running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Provide routing information and issue shipping instructions to ensure deliveries arrive on time and to their correct location.
- Be responsible for the preparation of quotes for customers, which will involve examining products or materials to estimate quantities or weight and type of container required for storage or transport.
- Analyze data and prepare reports reflecting findings and advise on strategic direction in relation to your role.
- Prepare paperwork for shipping and receiving team members to ensure correct product is located/loaded/and stocked properly.
- Handle activities throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle to make sure established deadlines are met.
- Visualize, facilitate, optimize, and lead the full order cycle from start to finish.
- Support key players such as suppliers, manufacturers, vendors, and customers.
- Track quality, quantity, stock, transport routing guide, delivery timelines, and productivity.
- Assist Team leads to monitor warehouse/shipment activity, productivity, accuracy and safety standards.
- Creation of invoices and international documentation.
- Identify process improvements opportunities and lead continuous improvement activities within the shipping team and including other support teams.
- Manage the implementation of new tools and resources to improve the overall efficiency of the shipping processes.
- Address any problems or complaints that may arise quickly and amicably.
- Highly efficient project management abilities and the ability to balance multiple projects.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrates self-initiative, sense of ownership, quality, and customer satisfaction orientation.
- Associates degree.
- 2+ years of experience working in logistics, warehouse and/or manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities in producing significant change and improvements in a warehouse setting.
- Have experience in traffic control/distribution activities.
- Experience in international and domestic shipping.
- A very deep knowledge of the materials/warehouse industry.
- Have strong organizational, communication, partnership and social skills.
- Project management proficiency with a keen understanding for change management.
- Practice strong relationship skills with the ability to work across a broad range of job levels.
- Excellent analytical skills, including strong facility with quantitative analysis techniques.
- Demonstrated creativity and innovation to advance materials processes and initiatives.
- Critical thinking skills, including validated ability to simultaneously be tactical while forward-looking.
- Have knowledge of continuous improvement or other lean operating philosophy.
