Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Title III provides strategic leadership, coordination, and operational oversight for the planning, implementation, administration, monitoring, and evaluation of federally funded Title III programs. Working under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Institutional Research, Effectiveness, and Title III, the Assistant Director assists in ensuring compliance with U.S. Department of Education regulations, the Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR), Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), institutional policies, and approved grant objectives.

The Assistant Director serves as a strategic partner to Activity Directors by providing technical assistance in project implementation, fiscal management, procurement, reporting, and performance assessment. This position collaborates extensively with Business Affairs, Human Resources, Procurement, Institutional Research, Information Technology, and academic and administrative units to ensure effective stewardship of federal funds while advancing institutional priorities, accreditation, student success, and organizational effectiveness.

Grant Administration and Compliance
  • Assist in the administration and day-to-day management of all Title III grant-funded activities.
  • Monitor grant implementation to ensure compliance with federal regulations, EDGAR, Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), institutional policies, and grant conditions.
  • Coordinate implementation schedules, timelines, milestones, and deliverables with Activity Directors.
  • Review expenditure requests, purchase requisitions, contracts, travel authorizations, personnel actions, and budget modifications for grant compliance prior to approval.
  • Conduct periodic compliance reviews and risk assessments to identify potential concerns and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor grant expenditures in collaboration with the Title III Budget Manager and Business Affairs to ensure fiscal accountability.
Program Planning and Project Management
  • Assist with the development of annual operating plans, implementation strategies, and project timelines.
  • Coordinate project monitoring activities to ensure approved objectives, performance indicators, and deliverables remain on schedule.
  • Support strategic planning initiatives that align Title III investments with institutional priorities, accreditation standards, and student success initiatives.
  • Assist with the development of competitive grant proposals, continuation applications, budget revisions, grant amendments, and other institutional funding opportunities.
Training and Technical Assistance
  • Provide technical assistance and training to faculty, staff, and Activity Directors regarding federal regulations, allowable costs, procurement requirements, project implementation, and grant compliance.
