Associate Pastor of Families and Students
Full-Time w/ Parsonage
Lakeside Baptist Church – Albany, GA
PurposeThe Associate Pastor of Families and Students will lead a Christ-centered student ministry that equips middle and high school students to live out an authentic relationship with Christ every day. This ministry will intentionally partner with parents and the broader church family to strengthen discipleship in the home. In addition, this role provides oversight for children’s and college ministries, helping ensure a clear path of discipleship from childhood through young adulthood.
MainResponsibilities Spiritual Leadership
- Shepherd students through biblical teaching, discipleship, and by modeling a Christ-centered life.
- Build meaningful relationships with students and their families.
- Lead weekly youth gatherings.
- Plan and oversee retreats, mission trips, and outreach events that foster spiritual growth and evangelism.
- Encourage, equip, and support family discipleship; serving as a resource for parents.
- Develop student leaders and create pathways for service and leadership within the church.
- Provide oversight for children’s and college ministries, equipping leaders and volunteers for effective discipleship.
- Recruit, train, and support a team of adult volunteers.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents about ministry events and opportunities.
- Submit annual budgets and ministry plans.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the overall life and mission of the church.
- A clear personal testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
- Meets biblical qualifications for church leadership (1 Timothy 3; Titus
1). - A heart for students and their families.
- Humble, teachable, and team-oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to lead both spiritually and administratively.
- Experience in student ministry (volunteer or paid) preferred.
- Bible college or seminary degree is a plus, but not required for the right candidate.
- Loves students and disciples them toward Jesus.
- Believes the local church is central to God’s mission.
- Understands youth ministry as a partnership with families.
- Lives a life marked by prayer, humility, integrity, and joy.
- Passionate about God’s Word and discipleship.
- A model of servant leadership who invests in volunteers and future leaders.
- Strong communicator with students, parents, and the church.
- Organized and capable of planning and executing ministry goals.
- Adaptable and responsive to the changing needs of students and families.
