High School Math Teacher

Math Teacher

The Dougherty County School System is seeking a High School Math teacher to join our roster of experienced, motivated, and effective teaching professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mathematics and a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for high school students. Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors' degree or higher;
Valid Georgia Teacher certification or Charter Waiver Eligible;
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and the Board may find appropriate.

Ability to relate to and motivate all students in a positive manner with respect;
Ability to effectively navigate and utilize a wide range of educational and career-related technology tools, software applications, and digital platforms while engaging students;
Ability to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance
• Completes all records and reports on time and with accuracy
• Be present, organized, and enthusiastically committed to the success of all students
• Develop and implement instructional plans and materials aligned with state standards and curriculum frameworks
• Plan engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
• Deliver instruction using a variety of methods, including lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on activities
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual students and accommodate varying levels of readiness and learning pace
• Design and administer formative and summative assessments to measure student learning and understanding of mathematical concepts
• Analyze assessment data to evaluate student progress and inform instructional decisions
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their performance and progress
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine assessment tools and strategies
• Implements effective classroom management strategies to maintain a positive learning atmosphere and address behavioral issues constructively
• Collaborates with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and instructional strategies for enhancing Math instruction
• Participates in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends, research, and pedagogical approaches in math education
• Supervises or assists in the supervision of school activities as assigned
• Performs related duties as assigned as circumstances require;
  Maintains satisfactory performance on the system Evaluation Instrument;
  Performs other such duties needed or assigned by the Principal/Supervisor
