LocationOur West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.
Job SummaryThe department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics seeks a dynamic and innovative Part-Time instructor of Mathematics to join our adjunct team. This role involves effective teaching, student mentorship and service to the department and the university. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in teaching and have a commitment to integrating new technologies in the learning process and the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower the students to succeed.
This role also includes responding to academic early alerts, suggesting opportunities for study abroad, internships, and research opportunities.
- Teach both introductory and advanced level courses, in a face-to-face or online format.
- Utilize diverse teaching techniques to foster active learning.
- Lead and moderate classroom discussions.
- Administer and grade examinations and other coursework.
- Additional responsibilities will include advising and mentoring students.
- Master’s Degree or eighteen (18) graduate credit hours in mathematics.
- A strong record of teaching. At least two (2) years of applicable teaching experience at the collegiate level.
Salary is based on a per credit hour rate.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge- Knowledge of effective teaching practices, including online and technological instruction.
- An understanding of current trends in the field, best practices, and standards in mathematics.
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to work with a diverse group of students.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Skilled in providing quality feedback on assessments to aid in student learning.
- Ability to mentor and advise students on academic and professional pathways.
- Ability to adapt to the changes in the field and incorporate them into the learning experience.
- Ability to connect, collaborate, and work effectively with other faculty, staff, and industry partners.
