Job SummaryAlbany State University invites applications for a tenure-track Graduate Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Psychology position. The Graduate Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Psychology is a key academic and administrative position that plays a major role in advancing the mission of Albany State University. This is a 12-month contract tenure-track position. As one of the largest programs on campus, the Psychology Program will offer a new master
¿ s degree in the fall with a trauma psychology specialization. The position has joint teaching and administrative duties. The administrative duties include locating and developing practica sights (both local and distance for online students), supervising practica students, and mentoring students. The class load will be 1/1/2 and the Assistant Professor is responsible for delivering high quality instruction, curriculum development, participating in professional development activities, and participating in department and university activities, as well as other assigned duties.

ResponsibilitiesGraduate Coordinator:
Locating and developing practicum sights (both local and distance for online students), supervising practicum students, maintaining and documenting practica records.
Teaching:
Faculty are expected to teach a 1/1/2 load of graduate courses. The 2-course load during the summer will be practica supervision.
Research and Scholarly Activity:
All tenure track faculty are expected to provide evidence that they are staying current in their field and offering up to date course content.
Student Mentorship and Support:
Faculty will provide mentorship to students, assisting with academic planning, offering career guidance, and helping ensure student success
Service and Campus Involvement:
Faculty members will participate in department and campus activities, including committee work, program development, and contributing to campus events. These contributions help foster a vibrant academic community and support students
¿ growth both within and beyond the classroom.

Required Qualifications- A Master
¿ s Degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or a related field. - An Associate Professional Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, or a Licensed Psychologist.
- A PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or a related field
¿ or ABD with an established defense date and an appropriate license. - Experience with trauma psychology or trauma-informed care/practice.
- Familiarity with accreditation standards and processes.
- Experience supervising practicum or internship students
¿ or a record of supervising Directed Experience hours for Psychologist, APC, or LPC licensing requirements. - Experience teaching online.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with supporting diverse student populations.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
