The Program Manager for Community Engagement provides day-to-day leadership for two components of ASU's Title III, Part B-funded initiative, Impact Through Engagement:
Advancing Learning and Community Partnerships: the Presidential Lecture Series and Community-Based Wellness Projects.

Reporting to the VP for Student Affairs & Enrollment Management, this position plans, coordinates, implements, and assesses programming that brings nationally recognized speakers to campus and builds wellness initiatives in partnership with academic departments such as Health and Human Performance and the Darton College of Health Professions.

Working closely with the Program Director, the Program Manager translates strategic goals into measurable outcomes, collaborates with faculty, community organizations, alumni, and civic partners, and may supervise student workers, graduate assistants, and volunteers supporting the initiative.

Presidential Lecture Series
- Planning and Execution

• Serve as operational lead for planning, logistics, and execution of Presidential Lecture Series events under the Program Director's direction.
• Research and recommend speakers across five thematic areas (Community Impact, Education, Business/Entrepreneurship, Research/Innovation, Wellness), maintaining a balanced annual calendar.
• Design student engagement opportunities (planning committees, Q&A sessions, reflections) tied to each lecture.
• Collaborate with faculty, particularly in Health and Human Performance and Darton College of Health Professions, to align Wellness-themed programming with academic content.
• Manage event logistics (venue, A/V, catering, accessibility, speaker travel) and coordinate promotion with University Relations, Marketing, and Alumni Affairs.
• Maintain records of attendance, engagement, and partnerships for grant reporting.

Community Based Wellness Projects
- Planning and Execution

• Lead development, implementation, and evaluation of Community-Based Wellness Projects.
• Serve as primary liaison to Health and Human Performance and Darton College of Health Professions to embed wellness projects into at least 3 academic courses, engaging 100+ students per cycle.
• Plan and execute at least 6 community wellness events per cycle with local health agencies and community partners.
• Develop community partnership agreements and manage relationships with health organizations and civic agencies.
• Design assessment tools to track student wellness knowledge outcomes (target: 75% reporting increased knowledge).
• Report outcome data to Program Director and support institutionalization of wellness initiatives.

Cross-Collaborative Academic Engagement

• Serve as primary liaison between Student Affairs and academic colleges, especially Health and Human Performance and Darton College of Health Professions.
• Maintain communication with department chairs and faculty to ensure programmatic alignment.
• Develop experiential learning opportunities connecting coursework to community engagement.
• Coordinate student organizations and health-related student groups in initiative programming.
• Support pathways for course credit, service-learning, or practice hours through participation.
• Share program updates and outcomes with academic partners to sustain faculty engagement.

Student Engagement, Leadership, and Mentorship

• Recruit and mentor undergraduate students, especially from health-related programs, for event and project participation.
• Design leadership development activities, reflections, and workshops tied to programming.
• Supervise student workers, graduate assistants, and volunteers.
• Serve as a role model fostering civic responsibility and experiential learning.
• Support outreach to underrepresented student populations and connect participation to career readiness.

Assessment, Data Management, and Reporting

• Design and manage data collection systems for both program components in line with grant indicators.
• Analyze data to track progress and identify improvement areas.
• Prepare regular reports for the Program Director supporting grant compliance.
• Maintain accurate records per federal and university data policies.
