Position: SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Duties

* You will plan, develop, organize, administer, evaluate, and coordinate a comprehensive safety and occupational health inspection program.
* You will perform safety compliance inspections of all workplaces, training areas, and facilities.
* You will Independently coordinate with points of contact to conduct the workplace inspections.
* You will assign risk assessment codes to each item, and provide corrective actions and recommendations.
* You will recommend corrective action to increase the effectiveness of safety features, such as mechanical safeguards, work procedures and processes, and personal protective equipment.
* You will administer and manage a variety of safety sub-programs, as assigned.
* You will ensure program is in compliance with applicable standards by authoring a comprehensive and detailed written program, creating a program audit checklist, and documenting an annual program review to foster continuous improvement.
* You will prepare and deliver specialized safety training to employees and supervisors as assigned by the Safety Manager and perform general or specific safety and health training.
* You will assist supervisors in identifying required safety training for employees; and perform contractor safety orientations for those groups performing work on the installation
* You will assist supervisors and unit safety officers in investigations of serious accidents/mishaps, which include those with significant severity of loss.
* You will prepare reports and taskers, statistical analysis on accident trends, illnesses, near misses, and any safety related topics using all available resources of Microsoft Office and other computer software.
* You will assist the Installation Safety Manager with budget development, preparation of command briefings, program performance metrics, and trend analysis. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* This is a bargaining unit position. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Assisting in administering and coordinating a safety and occupational health inspection program to include safety sub-programs (e.g. Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety, Explosive Safety, Hazard Communication), safety training, AND accident/mishaps investigations.
