You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT/OA) in the CIVILIAN HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICE, STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT DIVISION of MARINE CORPS BASE.
Duties- You will screen applicants for prerequisites.
- You will provide basic program information and support regarding standard processing procedures and requirements related to the employee development program.
- You will screen calls and visitors, provide necessary information or refer to specialist when higher level assistance is required.
- You will respond to routine inquiries on procedures for filing requests for training concerning timeliness, documentation, and signature requirements.
- You will edit material and make necessary corrections in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and format.
- You will maintain documents in electronic file for easy retrieval and make backup copies of stored data as appropriate.
- You will maintain and update computer user manuals, reference books, and operating handbooks.
- You will prepare varied documents with complex formats, such as newsletters, brochures, flyers, special reports, briefings, and manuals, using the advanced functions of word processing, desktop publishing, and other software types.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
