Senior Application Engineer

Job Summary

Provide IT support, maintenance, and project execution activities within the ERP Quote-to-Cash business process environment, aligning with overall organizational strategies, goals, and objectives. This includes investigating and assisting in the resolution of system-related issues as required. Collaborate with business representatives and IT teams to design, develop, and implement information technology solutions that support the organization's business processes. Support and maintain SAP SD functionality, configuration, and technical objects within the SAP environment.

Provide guidance to business users in developing test plans, test scripts, training plans, and training materials. Assist with SAP testing, quality assurance, and monitoring activities. Provide functional support to reporting teams and end users to ensure the organization's SAP SD and overall Quote-to-Cash reporting requirements are met. Maintain documentation related to system design, configuration changes, custom developments, and business processes within the SAP SD environment.

• Develop complex technical design specifications to meet business needs identified through application requirements, user stories, support tickets, and test defects.
• Build software enhancements through configuration and/or development to meet desired functionalities.
• Perform unit testing on application enhancements prior to moving coding and configuration through the quality assurance process.
• Develop, define, and review test plans and scripts for functional, performance, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Analyze applications for compliance with security protocols and recommend changes as needed.
• Participate in and lead incident management activities, including troubleshooting and performing after‑action reviews and tasks.
• Lead work streams for smaller projects and provide training and guidance to junior engineers.
• Perform application functionality gap analyses and feasibility studies for application enhancements.
• Organize planning, assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress for project assignments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems, making decisions under conditions of uncertainty.

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in a related discipline; degree from a four‑year college or university is required.
• Experience with SAP SD configuration and maintenance, as well as SAP S/4
  
  HANA 2025 (On Premise).
• Familiarity with SAP aATP (Advanced Available‑to‑Promise), ATP (Available‑to‑Promise), and Backorder Processing (BOP).
• Self‑starter who can quickly become productive with minimal SAP guidance and supervision.
• 3–5 years of experience in a related field with an MS/MA degree, or 5–8 years of experience with a BS/BA.
• Certification in relevant areas is required.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Requires sitting for most of the time with occasional light lifting. Overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
