At Houston Methodist, the Sr. Supply Technician position is responsible for performing the physical inventory-related tasks in Supply Chain Management including receiving, storage, distribution, and replenishment of supplies and equipment. The role includes delivering supply and equipment orders, stocking supplies, rotating supplies, checking expiration dates, removing excess inventory, cleaning clinical equipment, assisting with customer inquiry, and performing financial transactions in various hospital systems.

Education- High School diploma or equivalent education (examples include: GED, verification of homeschool equivalency, partial or full completion of post‑secondary education, etc.)
- Two years of previous experience in a customer service role or Healthcare, Supply Chain or Materials Management.
- Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job.
- Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English necessary to perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co‑workers in a customer‑service focused manner.
- Knowledge of PPE and process requirements for Sterile Supply helpful.
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills.
- Facilitates open, professional communication to achieve mutual understanding and role‑model effective communication skills.
- Serves as a lead resource for off‑hours and weekends and assists with training of personnel.
- Promotes a positive work environment and contributes to a team‑focused unit that helps achieve department goals.
- Provides contributions towards improvement of department scores for turnover, retention, and employee satisfaction.
- Responds to supply and equipment needs, adjusts inventory levels, and efficiently delivers and stocks supplies and equipment.
- Receives, picks, stages, and delivers supplies and equipment according to schedule and guidelines.
- Responds to and oversees supply and equipment requests, both urgent and routine, within established guidelines.
- Reviews, maintains and executes changes for supply and equipment inventory levels to prevent stock‑outs or over‑stock.
- Inspects and audits supply and equipment deliveries based on department standards and procedures.
- Assists with capture of non‑conforming products and removes expired product; keeps clinical supply and equipment areas clean and organized.
- Responsible for basic troubleshooting of concerns in the inventory management systems.
- Responsible for input of all supply chain transactions and ensures accuracy within the tracking systems.
- Uses resources efficiently and recommends cost‑effective work practices.
- Generates and communicates ideas that improve service quality.
- Participates in special projects and department initiatives, and updates the individual development plan.
