Job Description

The Automotive Technician will maintain a diverse range of vehicles including delivery trucks, heavy‑duty tractors, and trailers. Propulsion systems include diesel, gasoline, compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electric. The role requires expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, engine controls, and more.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Meet DOT requirements required by job assignment.
  • Perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and turning/pivoting throughout the workday.
  • Sit infrequently as needed.
  • Use hand and power tools, including pneumatic equipment, to complete assigned tasks.
  • Operate standard, manual, and power transmissions.
Requirements
  • Active state‑issued driver’s license.
  • Willingness to work a 3rd shift (6:00 PM to 3:00 AM, Monday through Friday).
  • Possess the hand tools necessary to perform the job.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Current documented automotive mechanical experience.
  • Experience with diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computer.
  • Full complement of personal hand tools.
  • Class A/B or Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Preferred.
  • Dependability and punctuality.
  • Availability to work varying shifts, overtime, and additional hours.
  • Wears required personal protective equipment.
  • Can work in variable temperature and humidity conditions, exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise.
  • Works cooperatively in a diverse team environment.
  • Effective communication skills (sight, hearing, or otherwise) to maintain safety conditions.

The starting pay for this position is $
39.38 per hour. For union‑represented postings, wage rates, ranges and benefit offerings are governed by collective bargaining agreements.

Hired applicants are eligible for weekly pay, extensive training, 401(k), defined‑benefit pension, medical‑dental and vision after the waiting or probation period, $0 healthcare premium, paid vacation, paid sick and family & medical leave (as required by law), paid holidays, and discounted employee stock purchase program.
