Facilities Management Director

The Dougherty County Facilities Management Department is hiring for a Facilities Management Director. The purpose of this position is to direct the renovations, repairs, upgrades, life cycle analysis, cleaning and sanitizing of all County facilities, and the services of the County Mailroom.

This class works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports.

Essential tasks include supervising staff, coordinating work, formulating policies, designing the departmental budget, providing policy guidance, initiating quality and safety standards, planning facilities audits, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, directing installation of communications equipment, managing energy management program, delegating responsibility in various services, supervising written and graphic presentations, directing resource allocation, and performing related work as assigned.

Minimum qualifications require a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Management, Maintenance/Construction or any closely related field, and eight (8) years of construction or facilities management or related field of which two (2) are in a management or supervisory position or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Physical demands involve medium work that includes walking, standing, stooping, jumping, dancing, stretching, or lifting all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis and 50 to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis. Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken, including exposure to bright/dim light, dusts and pollen, extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, extreme noise levels, animals/wildlife, vibration, fumes and/or noxious odors, traffic, moving machinery, electrical shock, and heights.

Special certifications and licenses include possessing and maintaining a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history. Required documents include copies of a high school diploma or equivalent, driver's license, degree(s) and/or certificate(s).
