Operations Manager – Albany, GA
Arclin USA is currently seeking an Operations Manager for our flagship facility in Albany, GA. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position leads the production department in the safe and cost‑effective operation of the facility. The role facilitates, directs, and controls all aspects of the production operation to achieve Arclin’s goals and ensures compliance with all regulatory and company policies.
Responsibilities- Reinforce safety and environmental requirements and expectations for all site employees, holding themselves and others accountable.
- Plan, organize, and direct the manufacturing department.
- Collaborate with internal and corporate functional leaders to develop and implement efficient use of materials, labor, and equipment to meet production targets.
- Organize and facilitate production shutdown/start‑up for maintenance as needed.
- Achieve project or departmental objectives within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters.
- Identify and resolve safety concerns or incidents, including reporting, investigation, and resolution.
- Ensure manufacturing team members are responsible for their safety, team safety, and production quality.
- Develop and deliver manufacturing cost‑saving plans to achieve annual savings goals.
- Provide full‑cycle performance management support for direct reports.
- Communicate with internal and external customers to ensure project plans and work in progress meet desired outcomes.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
- 5–10+ years of direct management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Results‑driven leader with strategic thinking and continuous improvement focus.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, motivational, and communication skills.
- Firm understanding of KPIs and delivering results.
- Experience developing and planning forecasts and executing operating budgets.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel (pivot tables, formulas, conditional formatting), and Word.
- Experience in a chemical environment.
- Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
- High professional ethics, dependability, good judgment, and decisive action.
- Adherence to company safety and quality standards.
- Exposure to weather elements.
- On‑call availability: carries a cell phone and responds to after‑hour emergencies.
- Ability to operate safely in a manufacturing environment, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, stooping, rotating, climbing stairs, or combinations of the aforementioned.
