About the RoleThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a critical role in delivering high‑quality healthcare services within women’s and children’s health settings. The role involves providing direct patient care, performing clinical procedures such as venipuncture, and assisting in triage to prioritize patient needs. The LPN educates patients and families on health management and wound care, ensuring comprehensive support throughout the care continuum. Working collaboratively with registered nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, the LPN contributes to a safe and compassionate environment and aims to enhance patient outcomes through skilled nursing care, effective communication, and adherence to clinical protocols.
Minimum Qualifications- Valid and current Nursing License as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the United States.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in women’s and children’s health care.
- Ability to perform venipuncture and provide wound care according to clinical standards.
- Basic understanding of triage procedures and patient care protocols.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting focused on women’s and children’s health.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Additional training or certification in patient education or health promotion.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Conduct patient assessments and assist in triage to determine urgency of care.
- Provide direct nursing care including wound care management and performing venipuncture.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to supervising nurses or physicians.
- Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols within the clinical environment.
The required skills include knowledge of women’s and children’s health, triage, wound care, and venipuncture. Fluency in English ensures clear communication and accurate documentation. Possessing an LPN license validates professional expertise. Preferred skills such as EHR experience and life‑support certifications further enhance readiness for emergencies.
