Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology

Albany, GA

Contract | Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holidays rotate with staff

• Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed inpatient oncology unit, managing acute oncology symptoms including thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology, and end-of-life care
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5, with occasional 1:6 assignments, supported by nurse aides
• Utilize central telemetry monitoring; reading strips is not required
• Document and manage patient care using Meditech EMR
• Accept outpatient oncology patients transferred to the floor to complete treatment when the outpatient area closes
• Float rarely to medical acute unit as needed

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of experience in oncology specialty
• At least 1 prior travel assignment completed (no first-time travelers)
• Current BLS certification
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility (per driver's license address) — must be confirmed at time of submission
• Ability to wear Caribbean Blue scrubs per unit dress code

• NIHSS certification preferred
• ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) chemotherapy certification preferred for candidates seeking chemo administration responsibilities (minimum 2 years oncology experience required)
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR

• Work on a structured oncology unit with a dedicated charge nurse staffed outside the grid and consistent nurse aide support
• Benefit from a 3-day floor-specific orientation designed to set traveling nurses up for success
