Thrive in a high-intensity, fast-paced clinical environment as an Emergency Room Registered Nurse. This position is situated in a comprehensive Emergency Department that manages approximately 140 visits per day across 25 monitored beds, 6 fast-treatment areas, 2 trauma bays, a resuscitation bay, a dedicated stroke room, and a 4-bed secure behavioral health unit. Working within a 1:4 nurse‑to‑patient ratio, you will provide critical, rapid‑response care to patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Supported by 24/7 dedicated ER Respiratory Therapists, an in‑department Pharmacist, and an exceptional team of ED Physicians and Mid‑Levels, you will serve as a vital clinical guardian during acute medical crises.
Emergency Nursing Practice: Deliver expert, rapid-response care to diverse patient populations presenting with acute illnesses, behavioral health crises, and traumatic injuries.
Trauma & Stroke Interventions: Stabilize and manage critical patients within dedicated trauma bays and specialized stroke rooms; coordinate appropriate transfers for high-level neurotrauma or burn care.
Clinical Autonomy: Perform your own laboratory draws and establish peripheral IV access efficiently; manage advanced medical equipment including Alaris pumps and ventilators for boarding patients.
Collaborative Stabilization: Partner closely with ER Paramedics, Nurse Aides, and dedicated Emergency Respiratory Therapists to maintain room readiness and optimized patient flow.
Triage & Flow Efficiency: Assist with the coordination of the Fast Track area to screen and stream less acute patients to community care clinics, utilizing standardized triage protocols.
Precise Documentation: Record all patient encounters, clinical interventions, and medication administrations accurately within the Meditech 6.15 EMR platform.

Required QualificationsEducation: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia (or compact state licensure).
Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and either ASLS or NIHSS certifications.
Acuity
Experience:
Highly preferred candidates will possess prior travel nursing experience or 5+ years of experience within a Level 1 Trauma Facility.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred (qualifies for an additional hourly differential).
Triage
Competency:
Prior ESI triage training or familiarity with structured emergency severity index systems.
Equipment & Tech: Previous hands‑on experience utilizing Alaris infusion pumps and navigating Meditech EMR platforms.
Location and Work TypeLocation: Albany, GA
Shifts Available: 12-Hour Days OR 12-Hour Nights
Ratios: 1:4 Nurse-to-Patient ratio (Supported by 2-3 Paramedics/Aides per shift and central monitor techs).
Requirements: Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation.
Base Salary Range: $32.45 – $40.90/HR (Actual starting pay precisely aligned with years of experience).
Shift & Role Differentials:
Night Shift Premium: +$5.00/hr
Charge Nurse Premium: +$2.00/hr
Preceptor Premium: +$2.00/hr
BSN Premium: +$1.00/hr
