Job Title: Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes (Position Overview)
Position SummaryUnder the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and/or a Registered Nurse or LPN, this role assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and supports the care plan. The incumbent communicates with the healthcare team, patients, and families, maintaining professional ethics at all times.
Position Responsibilities- Supports activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, plus mobility and transport assistance.
- Demonstrates standard precautions including patient isolation care and safe patient practice.
- Performs technical duties directed by RN/LPN: vital signs, point‑of‑care testing, bladder scanning, Foley catheter care specific to the population served, and documentation. May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
- Identifies and communicates changes in patient status to RN/LPN and responds appropriately.
- Reinforces patient and family education regarding care needs and safety issues.
- Participates in Virtua patient satisfaction initiatives and goals.
- Participates in performance improvement activities.
- Assists in orientation of new hires.
- Demonstrates knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures, and standards.
- Must have strong communication skills.
High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED), or equivalent. Must have successfully completed a PCT course, a fundamentals nursing course in an RN program, a Certified Nursing Assistant program, or have worked an equivalent of one year of direct patient care.
Training, Certifications, and Licensure- BLS certification.
- Phlebotomy training or education required for Emergency Department positions.
- Enhances skills through ongoing education and training, maintaining regulatory and departmental competencies.
$19.54 – $29.20 per hour. The actual salary or rate will vary based on applicant experience, internal equity, and market data.
