Job Summary

Assists professional nursing personnel in providing patient care to a specific patient population. Provides direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance of the licensed nurse.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • 1+ year experience in Medical Terminology (Preferred)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire (Required)
  • Crisis Response Training within 6 months of hire (Required)
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance to nurses with direct patient care.
  • Communicate with and keep manager informed of unit activities, needs, and problems related to patient care.
  • Maintain established departmental, unit, and hospital guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Follow established routines, utilize supplies and equipment cost‑effectively.
  • Implement and maintain safety and effectiveness factors for patient outcomes.
  • Administer daily patient hygiene standards.
  • Document and submit required information and data in a timely fashion.
  • Use correct terminology and conform to required style and format.
  • Demonstrate technical skill in using equipment appropriate for the role.
  • Maintain equipment in working order, troubleshoot equipment problems, and adapt to new technology.
  • Adhere to attendance and punctuality guidelines.
  • Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with core values, mission, and vision.
  • Attend staff meetings, in‑services, and competency evaluations on time, and attend ongoing educational programs.
  • Demonstrate competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
  • Wear protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
