Registered Nurse – Oncology

Albany, GA

Contract | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holidays rotate with staff

• Provide direct inpatient nursing care on a 29-bed oncology floor unit
• Care for patients presenting with acute oncology symptoms including thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology conditions, and end-of-life care
• Receive and complete treatment for outpatient oncology patients transferred to the floor when the outpatient area closes
• Monitor patients via central telemetry system (strip reading not required)
• Collaborate with charge nurses and nurse aides (generally 3 per shift) within established staffing ratios of 1:5, occasionally 1:6
• Float rarely to medical acute unit as needed

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of experience in oncology specialty
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• BLS certification required
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility (verified by driver's license at time of submission)

• NIHSS certification preferred
• ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) chemotherapy certification preferred; minimum 2 years of oncology experience required if administering chemotherapy

• Work on a structured oncology unit with a dedicated charge nurse and consistent nurse aide support
• Benefit from a 3-day floor-specific orientation to set you up for success from day one
