We desire a Registered Nurse with Med Surg skills for a travel assignment in Albany, GA. This position requires travel, and compensation will cover travel expenses and is higher than local assignments. To start, prepare for the process by updating your RN license, immunizations, and physical records. Once you identify assignments of interest, your recruiter will submit you for interviews. During the interview, inquire about scheduling, patient to nurse ratios, required skills, etc.
State licensing requirements vary. Some states process RN licenses quickly, while others, like California, New Jersey, and New York, may take over a month. Some states issue licenses in one day. If you have a license in a Nurse Licensure Compact state, you can practice in any of the 25 compact states.
Each facility has its own policy, but generally, a year or more of experience in your area of specialization is needed. Some specialties, like psychiatric RN and cardiac ICU, require over two years of experience.
