Trusted Health is seeking a Medical Surgical Oncology nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you’ll deliver evidence-based care to oncology and post-surgical patients, manage complex treatment plans, and collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team. You’ll assess, monitor, and educate patients and families throughout the care continuum. Key Responsibilities- Provide direct bedside care to adult oncology patients on medical-surgical units, including comprehensive assessments and focused exams
- Administer medications, chemotherapy, blood products, and supportive therapies safely and per protocol
- Monitor patients for treatment side effects, complications, and changes in condition, and elevate care appropriately
- Manage central lines, infusion pumps, and other specialized oncology-related equipment
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, symptom management, and discharge instructions
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
- Coordinate with physicians, pharmacists, case managers, and ancillary staff to support smooth transitions of care
- Adhere to hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and regulatory and safety guidelines
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives during each assignment
- Adapt quickly to new hospital environments, workflows, and teams as a traveling nurse
- Advocate for patient preferences, comfort, and safety throughout the continuum of care
