Travel RN - Telemetry - Direct Observation Unit

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Observation Unit (Med Surg) position requiring 1 year of experience and heavy telemetry skills.

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS certification not required but highly recommended
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Acute care setting experience required

• tingospital's22-bed Observation Unit
• Patient population consists of miscellaneous medical observation cases with heavy telemetry monitoring via central monitoring
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6 with charge nurse occasionally taking patients
• CNA support available on the floor when staffing allows
• Common titratable drip is Heparin only
• No ventilator equipment on this unit
• RNs perform their own EKGs and draw their own labs
• Discharges of up to 16 patients per day with admissions and refills, in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment
• Uses MEDITECH EMR system
• Day shift schedule, 7a-7p
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage rotates with permanent staff
• Floating required to other Med Surg units
• No call or standby requirements

• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for placement
• Not eligible for placement if previously employed by the facility within the last 12 months
• Unit-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts
• Dress code is Caribbean Blue scrub top and bottom, or white top with Caribbean Blue bottom, or all white top and bottom
