American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift acute care position requiring BLS, NIHSS certification, and at least one year of experience.

• Acute Care Med/Surg unit with 44 beds and 40 staff
• Patient ratios of 1:5, possibly 1:6, for both day and night shifts
• CNAs provide support at 1:8, generally 1:10, and may serve as sitters
• Telemetry patients present but monitored on a separate unit
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 7p-7a
• Charting completed in MEDITECH
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required to all acute care units and cardiology for medical patients, or to the ED for acute care patient holds

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Current NIHSS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• MEDITECH experience preferred but not required

• General orientation is 1 week, including EMR training
• Floor-specific orientation is 2 days
• Caribbean Blue scrub color required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for placement
• Not eligible for placement if employed by the facility within the last 12 months
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
