Up to $50,000 Sign-On Bonus

Spelts and Masters Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Mixed Animal DVM to join our long-established and highly respected practice in Albany, Georgia. We are continuing to grow and are looking for a confident, skilled veterinarian who is comfortable working with both small and large animals and values autonomy within a collaborative team environment. Essential Responsibilities
  • Examine, diagnose, and treat small and large animal patients to determine the nature of disease, injury, or medical condition
  • Perform routine and advanced medical and surgical procedures appropriate to a mixed animal caseload
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment, collect and analyze samples, and interpret results to guide treatment plans
  • Develop and communicate preventative care strategies and treatment recommendations tailored to each case
  • Prescribe medications and establish comprehensive medical protocols
  • Provide compassionate client guidance, including complex medical decision‑making and end‑of‑life care when appropriate
  • Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely medical records
  • Uphold veterinary ethics, hospital standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) from an AVMA‑accredited institution
  • Active (or eligible for) Georgia veterinary licensure
  • DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Minimum of 2+ years clinical experience preferred, ideally within a mixed animal setting
  • Proficiency in surgery and dentistry
  • Strong clinical decision‑making and case management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional and collaborative approach with clients and team members
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently and assist with handling larger patients or equipment as needed
