The Regional Clinical Sales Specialist will advance the Company’s sales of orthopedic surgical products by providing clinical and logistical expertise in hospitals and operating rooms. The role will include independent coverage of surgical cases, management of billing/purchase orders, logistics, asset management, and travel within the U.S. as necessary.
Key Responsibilities- Independently guide and assist surgeons in the operating room by providing clinical and technical support of orthopedic surgical cases.
- Advance DePuy Synthes sales by serving as sole Company representative to provide direct customer support by attending surgeries and ensuring proper equipment is available and functioning.
- Troubleshoot and apply independent judgment to respond to physician needs; address customer requests; effectively handle hospital billing and build/close purchase orders.
- Share key customer, procedural, and marketplace insights with other sales, clinical, marketing, and strategic account teams to improve solutions/service levels and support sales growth; prepare sales reports and documents as needed.
- Provide Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department consultation.
- Maintain, track, and effectively deploy equipment and assets throughout assigned area ensuring product availability.
- Ensure all promotional materials are maintained in a presentable manner and meet the highest quality standards.
- Provide logistical support by moving instruments, implants, and equipment between sales representatives and hospitals.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- Associate Degree or Medical Certification (CST, PT, etc.) plus minimum 2 years of professional experience, OR minimum 4 years of professional experience.
- Recently transitioned from Active Military Duty (optional).
- Ability to travel within the U.S. as necessary (frequent overnight and/or weekend).
- Residence in or ability to relocate to a geographic region assigned by the Company.
- Ability to work in a lab/operating room environment.
- A valid driver’s license issued in the United States.
- Strong interpersonal communication, influencing, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience in data analysis and excellent problem‑solving skills.
- Results orientation / prioritization.
- Ability to work independently and autonomously.
- Ability to work in a complex organization and team structure.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, communicate, and work in complex environments.
- Functional knowledge of human anatomy and physiology; basic knowledge of surgery.
- Strong technical product knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, protocols, and solutions (preferred).
