HVAC Truck Serviceman; union

What you will do

• Commission, service and maintain advanced commercial HVAC equipment in the healthcare, manufacturing, higher education, K-12 and commercial real estate sectors.
• Consult with customers on comfort, building inefficiency and other service‑related issues.
• Assist Journeymen in the repair and service of centrifugal, absorption, screw and scroll chillers.
• Perform maintenance, repair and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems and recommend solutions to ensure facilities are running efficiently.
• Identify enhancements that will provide customer systems reliability and sustainability at the time of service and provide labor and material quotes to support your recommendations.
• Participate in weekend, night, and holiday call‑out service on a rotating basis.

• Receive factory certification through the Service Technical Academy (STA) with milestone recognition and monetary rewards.
• Access Factory Technical Support.
• Use provided safety equipment, uniforms, tools, cell phone, technical equipment and vehicle.
• Possibly pass a skills exam.
• Obtain EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
• Experience with air‑cooled chillers and large RTU coil and compressor replacements and service diagnostics.
• Experience maintaining and repairing three‑phase commercial HVAC equipment, RTUs, heat pumps and fans.
• Adherence to the company safety program.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to join the UA of Plumbers and Pipe fitters.

• Five (5) years commercial and/or industrial HVAC experience.
• Knowledge of maintenance and minor repair of pumps, VFDs, air handling units and rooftop units.

Union Position
This is a bargaining unit position. Pay range: $32.95 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
