Assistant Farm Manager
Location:
Georgia
- Supervise tractor drivers, conduct mechanical maintenance and repairs, and operate complex equipment.
- Report directly to the General Farm Manager.
- Run and maintain center pivot irrigation systems.
- Calibrate planters and perform tractor repairs.
- Locate and pick up equipment and parts.
- Plant crops and keep planting records.
- Evaluate plant health.
- Apply fertilizer and chemicals while maintaining application records.
- Supervise harvest crews, oversee harvesting activities, and keep harvest records.
- Farming or mechanical experience.
- Good communication skills.
- Driver's license.
- Reliability, willingness to work long hours, and interest in learning new skills.
- Chemical Applicators license or the ability to obtain one.
- Must pass a background check and drug test.
- Multiple years of experience growing sweet corn, green beans, blueberries, peanuts, and similar crops.
- Mechanical knowledge and ability to perform repairs and maintenance on various farm equipment, including pivots.
- Experience supervising others and leading a team.
- Bilingual.
Salary: $500.00 to $800.00 /week plus benefits
