Location: City of Albany
The New York Department of Transportation's Contract Audit Bureau seeks an Auditor to perform pre-award evaluations and close-out audits of contracts with engineering firms, railroads, and utility companies under FAR Cost Principles. The role includes preparing audit reports, reviewing Federal and State Single Audits for sub-recipients, and assisting with Disadvantaged Business Enterprise certifications, with occasional travel required.
Key qualifications- Bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, or taxation (or equivalent with 24+ semester credit hours)
- For Auditor Trainee 1: bachelor's degree in accounting/auditing/taxation
- For Auditor Trainee 2: bachelor's degree plus 1 year or master's degree in accounting/auditing/taxation
- For Auditor 1: bachelor's degree plus 2 years, master's degree plus 1 year, or current CPA license
- Professional experience in accounting/auditing or financial internal/field auditing with responsibility for accounting systems and financial statement preparation
