- Oversee all day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the organization.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial records.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow, and bank reconciliations.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor organizational performance against the budget.
- Prepare financial forecasts and provide recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), nonprofit accounting standards, and all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Coordinate and manage annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
- Present financial information and reports to executive leadership.
- Monitor organizational cash reserves and investment accounts.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and operational efficiencies.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, grant compliance, and IRS Form 990.
- Proficiency with Quick Books, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
