Physical Demands The work is sedentary. It occasionally requires carrying light items such as papers and files. Work Environment The work is performed in an office setting.
Major Duties Controls the manager's appointments, answers telephones, and screens all calls and visitors. Schedules and coordinates meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements; prepares agendas and information for trips. Reviews incoming correspondence and determines whether it should be brought to the manager's attention or handled personally. Conducts research projects and prepares reports; proofreads and edits correspondence/documents. Screens publications, regulations, and directives which may be important to the office or members of the staff.
Serves as principal administrative support position for Field Office executive management. Substitutes in the absence of the secretary to the Special Agent in Charge (SAC).

Specialized Experience (SE) GS-9:
Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-8 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
Reviewed correspondence to ensure conformance with format, grammar, and current policies and regulations. Researched policies to provide advice on administrative procedures and requirements. Gathered, organized, and maintained information on a variety of automated and/or manual systems. Acted as a point-of-contact for internal and external personnel; assessing and addressing questions or conflicts and providing appropriate direction.
Education GS-9:
Education may not be substituted for specialized experience at this grade level.
