Duties Description
The Administrative Assistant 2 assigned to Employee Relations will report to the Deputy Superintendent – Employee Relations.
Duties include:
- Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, rerouting, proofreading documents prepared by other sections.
- Handling administrative duties in connection with Employee Relations Programs.
- Originating correspondence or preparing replies to correspondence as directed by Employee Relations Staff members.
- Acting as a liaison with sections under direct supervision of Employee Relations as well as with union representatives.
- Coordinating internal and interagency meetings consistent with Employee Relations Staff schedules.
- Making travel arrangements, including flights and lodging, and preparing travel advances and vouchers.
- Performing clerical processing and record maintenance activities utilizing word processing packages, spreadsheets, and database programs.
- Tracking employee organizational leave.
- Coordinating promotional ceremonies.
- Other duties as assigned by Employee Relations Colonel or designee.
Minimum Qualifications
One (1) year permanent service as a New York State employee with one (1) year service in a title allocated SG-11 or higher; OR Two years of administrative office experience in which you provided direct support for executive level management. AND Must have appropriate clerical skills, knowledge of proper office procedures, including experience with conventional and electronic data filing systems; AND Must be proficient in the operation of personal computers and various software including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Access and Excel;
