As an innovative and progressive local government located within the Great Southern Region, Albany is truly an amazing place to live and work. The City has a strong set of values, and the collective staff group has established a very positive culture and professional commitment to excellence in customer service, delivering positive community outcomes. The City strives for best practice and innovation and is committed to training and developing our workforce.
Joining the City of Albany's Major Projects team, this position plays a key role in leading the design, planning and communication elements of major infrastructure and public realm projects.
Reporting to the Manager Major Projects, you will coordinate and deliver projects across land-based and coastal infrastructure, public open spaces, streetscapes, trails and built form environments. The role ensures that project outcomes align with the City's strategic objectives, community expectations and quality standards, from feasibility and concept development through to implementation and handover.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced project professional with a strong background in infrastructure and public realm project delivery, and a particular strength in project design and communication.
You bring advanced project management capability, combined with well-developed design acumen and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, engaging materials for a range of audiences. You are confident leading community engagement processes, working collaboratively across teams, and building productive relationships with consultants, contractors and government stakeholders.
Your analytical mindset enables you to review and coordinate technical documentation, assess feasibility, manage risk, and ensure high-quality outcomes from concept through to completion. You are comfortable navigating procurement, contract administration and funding processes within a local government environment, and you take pride in delivering projects that enhance the liveability and quality of life for the Albany community.
