Summary of Role
The VP of Payments Strategy will lead Broadview’s Cards business, including the products, providers, platforms and services that process more than $5B in annual volume and support hundreds of thousands of consumers and businesses in Broadview’s footprint. This leader owns the Cards P&L, related vendor platforms/services/relationships, ongoing platform health, strategic planning, and disciplined execution of business growth, new capabilities, enhancements, and new solutions across our Card Processing and Network platforms.
The role also provides clear reporting and actionable insight into the KPIs that matter most to performance, growth, risk management, and long-term value creation. As a key enterprise leader, the Vice President of Payments Strategy will support partner/platform/service/product selection, solution design, and delivery roadmap decisions and execution across critical segments, including e-Commerce, Operations, Finance, Commercial Banking, Member Experience, Marketing, and Lending.
Success will require structured thinking, sound judgment, rigorous execution, and a strong ownership mindset. As Vice President of Payments Strategy, you will serve as the voice of the customer while developing profitable products that deliver meaningful value. Drawing on strong business acumen and a deep understanding of what drives product success, you will guide the launch of new products, campaigns, and capabilities;
capture critical feedback; and ensure consistently outstanding client experiences. With a clear focus on financial growth, wallet share growth, operating discipline, and enterprise-wide strategy, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer needs, strengthen the business, and exceed expectations.
- Demonstrate strong growth mindset, with accountability for business P&L performance, financial outcomes, customer satisfaction, and long-term value creation.
- Apply strong strategic judgment and analytical rigor to drive sound decision-making independently and in partnership with executive leadership.
- Communicate complex strategies, plans, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to a broad range of stakeholders, including senior executives and cross-functional partners.
- Partner with executive leaders to define the program delivery strategy and platform vision for Broadview’s Cards business, with a clear focus on customer value, business growth, and execution discipline.
- Build, implement, and own the planning processes that produce a detailed payments product investment roadmap designed to maximize business performance, financial returns, and achievement of key KPIs.
- Prepare for and lead executive leadership forums focused on product delivery roadmap decisions, prioritization tradeoffs, investment choices, and accountability for outcomes.
- Develop clear, compelling presentations that communicate strategic decisions, business goals, and roadmap priorities that supports Broadview’s Enterprise Strategy.
- Disciplined execution of tactics, strategies and business priorities.
- Create process documentation that defines the steps, inputs, preparation requirements, ownership, and timelines required at each stage of the strategic planning process.
- Use advanced Excel capabilities, including complex formulas, modeling, and visualizations, to analyze data and generate repeatable insights that inform strategic decisions.
- Manage multiple priorities and work streams at the same time, demonstrating strong project management, sound prioritization, and a bias for execution and outcomes.
