Site Safety Manager

Highland Consulting Group is a national executive recruiting firm that specializes in placing top talent in the Commercial & Institutional construction sectors.

We have a current opportunity available for a talented Site Safety Manager for a General Contractor in the Albany, NY area. This is a permanent position with a company that has experiencing steady growth. This position oversees all safety concerns for the company on individual sites. The ideal candidate will have large construction project experience with a minimum of 5 years experience working in a safety capacity and at least 3 years on major construction projects.

This is a permanent position and not project based.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be on-site to implement and manage the company’s safety plan
  • Work with / train the on-site staff in safe construction practices
  • Work directly with the client to manage the safety program and meet their expectations
  • Create the daily reports for the Director of Safety to review.
  • Oversee all safety concerns for all ongoing projects
Requirements:
  • A four year Safety degree is preferred.
  • OSHA 500 / 510 certification required.
  • CHST certification or better preferred.
  • 5 Years minimum of experience as a Site Safety Manager with at least 3 years experience on major construction projects.
  • Experience working directly with the Clients, Insurance companies, and other Contractors.
  • Solid proven and verifiable record of career stability and experience as a Site Safety Manager success is a must.
  • Familiarity with all applicable regulations.
  • Must have the ability to train staff and subcontractors.
  • Solid communication skills - both written & verbal.
  • Ability to establish timelines.
  • Ability to multi-task.
