The Construction Project Manager administers construction projects on State University campuses from initiation through closeout, managing consultants and contractors to ensure timely completion in accordance with contract documents. The role involves site inspections, processing change orders and payment applications, document review for code compliance, and coordination with campus representatives. This position is based in Albany and requires travel within New York State.
KeyQualifications
- Associate's degree with 10 years experience or Bachelor's/Master's degree with 10 years experience (professional license may substitute for some experience)
- Working knowledge of applicable codes, laws, rules and standards regulating design and construction, including New York State Building Codes
- Fundamental understanding of construction practices and construction management procedures
- Ability to understand contract documents and strong technology skills including Microsoft Office
- Effective communication and written skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively in a team environment
