Job FunctionsThe main function of the Allied Health internship/practicum coordinator is to manage and oversee the internship/practicum experience. The Allied Health internship/practicum coordinator will recruit sites, place students, and provide orientation for the on-site supervisors. In addition, he/she will provide the on-site assessment of student experiences and the quality of the learning opportunities at least once during each term students are assigned to the Allied Health internship/practicum site.
Under the direction of the Dean of Instruction and in collaboration with the Medical Assisting Program Director, the internship/practicum coordinator performs the functions listed below.
To manage and oversee the Allied Health internship/practicum experience, he/she:
- Select and approves internship/practicum sites
- Provides orientation for the on-site supervisors
- Orients students to the internship site
- Tracks student applications for internship/externship
- Conducts an on-site assessment of student learning experiences and the quality of learning opportunities at least once during each term students are assigned to the internship/practicum site
- Provides program and Academic Advisement to students in program
- Perform various other duties as assigned
- Teach courses as needed
- Knowledgeable in program curriculum, as evidenced by education and/or experience
- Effective in evaluating student learning and performance
- Strong team player
- Able to make meaningful and positive connections with a diverse student body in a career college environment
- Proficiency with electronic, print, and Internet resources
- Demonstrated evidence of excellent organizational, interpersonal, speaking, and writing skills
- Ability to handle and coordinate multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
Applicant must pass a background check.
- This is a 29 hour a week non-exempt position with hours determined by supervisor. Hours will range from day, evening, weekend and possibly holidays.
This is a Non-Exempt position:
Hourly Range is: $25.00 - $26.44
Please note that the compensation information is a good faith estimate of the base pay for this position. The selected candidate’s actual base pay for this role will take into account a wide range of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At Bryant & Stratton College, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
