Adult Education Instructor–English Second Language

LOCATION

Career & Technical Education – Adult Education Program (Multiple Locations)

Flexible AM/PM schedule @ 3 hours per class, up to 4 classes per day

To instruct foreign language learners the skills to improve their English language proficiency.

• To instruct students (16 years and older) within a small group classroom setting.
• Provide adults with the requisite skills to improve their English language (i.e. reading, writing, speaking and listening) proficiency.
• Instructors are expected to complete lesson plans, monthly reports, and other duties as assigned.

BOCES employee salary commensurate with experience and in accordance with contract language.

CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT

• Valid NYS teacher certification or be able to meet requirements for the Adult Education certificate. Requirements for the certificate are listed on the homepage of the NYS Education Department Teaching Certification under “Certification Requirements” in the category of “Other School Service–English Language Learning Instructor” Certification requirements can be found at (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). • Experience working with ESL population.
• Must possess good written and verbal skills.
