Job DescriptionThe Massry School of Business at the University at Albany, State University of New York, seeks candidates for a non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professor (VAP) of Management position with a focus in human resources and organizational behavior, beginning in Fall 2026. This is a one-year appointment, renewable for up to two additional one-year terms, subject to successful review and university approval. This position will be within the Department of Management, which is responsible for undergraduate- and graduate-level (MBA) education in our AACSB-accredited management, entrepreneurship, and human resources concentrations.
The position has a 3/3 teaching load and includes both in-person and online teaching responsibilities in our undergraduate and MBA programs. The department has a long history of high-impact scholarship and innovative educational programming, including a unique technology-focused MBA concentration in human resource information systems. Our faculty are well-regarded scholars across a diverse set of research areas, and frequently publish in high-ranking outlets.
We seek candidates who maintain an active scholarly agenda appropriate for a teaching-intensive appointment and who demonstrate the potential to contribute to the discipline through conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications. The position is targeted toward candidates with research and teaching focus in human resources, organizational behavior, and management. Candidates should be willing to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, both online and in person.
We are especially interested in candidates with prior experience or interest in online, asynchronous education as the new VAP will assist in our development of an online undergraduate degree program.
- Providing rigorous instruction in undergraduate and graduate courses, including the development and delivery of online courses
- Maintaining scholarly research through professional academic conferences and journal publications
- Contributing service primarily to the Department and School
