Summer Food MonitorTEMP Albany, NY, US
3 days ago Requisition
Salary: $18.00 Annually
Summer is a time for connection, exploration, and fun! Summer nutrition programs make sure children and young people have the nutrition they need to do just that. During the school year, meals are available to kids through school breakfast and lunch. But kids lose critical access to meals during the summer when schools are out. To fill this gap, many local schools and community organizations nationwide operate summer meal programs to provide meals to kids at no cost.
The intent of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is to serve nutritious meals to youth ages 18 and under at no charge during the summer months when school is not in session. The program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered at state level by relevant agencies.
Albany Housing Authority is one of those relevant agencies and we are currently seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and friendly people to help us bring this program to the community we serve.
